Gino DiPaolo leads a balanced attack to beat Harmony Area

Recap: Blacklick Valley Vikings vs. Harmony Area Owls

The Blacklick Valley Vikings's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Harmony Area and snuck past 66-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Blacklick Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gino DiPaolo, who scored 14 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points DiPaolo has scored all season. Alex Reba was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.

Despite the loss, Harmony Area still got an impressive performance from Jack Bracken, who scored 38 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. That was a full 60.3% of Harmony Area's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of JJ Sward, who scored nine points.

Blacklick Valley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Harmony Area, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blacklick Valley will take on Shanksville Stonycreek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Shanksville Stonycreek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Wednesday. As for Harmony Area, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Moshannon Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
