Recap: Richland County Tigers vs. Robinson Maroons
The Richland County Tigers lost against the Robinson Maroons back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Richland County fell 46-38 to Robinson. While losing is never fun, Richland County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while Robinson is ranked 49th).
Despite the loss, Richland County saw an underclassman step up: Kelysse Weiler scored 18 points along with 7 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Danielle Reagan Brown, who scored 0 points along with 13 rebounds.
Richland County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. As for Robinson, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richland County will take on Teutopolis at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Robinson, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Casey-Westfield at 6:00 p.m.
