Basketball Recap: Snow Canyon Comes Up Short

Snow Canyon extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 2-4. The game between the Warriors and the Pine View Panthers didn't end well, with the Warriors falling 55-40. The matchup marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Snow Canyon lost, don't look at Reggie MacKay. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-15 to rack up 18 points. Issaiah Thompson was another key player, shooting 71% from the field en route to 10 points.

As for Pine View, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The final result isn't all that surprising considering their considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Snow Canyon is ranked 73rd).

It was another big night for Jelani Odjegba, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 18 rebounds. Those 18 boards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cooper Ranson, who went 7-for-10 on his way to 16 points.

Coming up, Snow Canyon will host Canyon View at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pine View, they will head out to challenge Timpanogos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
