Liverpool gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 21-7 victory over the Cicero-North Syracuse Northstars. The win was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Northstars are ranked 17th).

Cicero-North Syracuse's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Liverpool will challenge Corning-Painted Post at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for Cicero-North Syracuse, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Elmira/Southside at 6:30 p.m. on the 12th.
