Baseball Recap: South River Comes Up Short

South River lost against Metuchen on Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Rams fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-2. The matchup marked the Rams' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Julius Rosado made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jimmy Sanchez, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

This is the second loss in a row for South River and nudges their season record down to 5-2. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Metuchen, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Looking ahead, South River will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Piscataway Vo-Tech at 11:00 a.m. As for Metuchen, they will head out on the road to challenge South Amboy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
