Volleyball Recap: Millard's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

It was a good run, but Millard unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against the North Summit Braves, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2022.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: North Summit scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-21, 25-17.

Olivia Bassett paced Millard's offense, picking up 13 kills. Bassett got some help from Eden Rasmussen and her 20 assists. Bassett also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Sofia Bassett, racking up two apiece.

Millard's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for North Summit, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-4.

Millard didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against South Summit on the 16th. As for North Summit, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Gunnison Valley on the 16th.
