Softball Recap: Brockway Extends Winning Streak to Six

Brockway waltzed into their match on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the DuBois Central Catholic Cardinals. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rovers have posted since May 11, 2024.

Bailee Carberry tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Payton Craft was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Brockway's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for DuBois Central Catholic, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brockway will host East Forest/West Forest at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fires have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.2 runs per game on average), something the Rovers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for DuBois Central Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cranberry Area at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
