Basketball Preview: Trinity Shamrocks vs. Susquehanna Township HANNA
The Trinity Shamrocks will head out on the road to take on the Susquehanna Township HANNA at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Trinity focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
Last Friday, Trinity beat the Crusaders 53-40. Given Trinity's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Crusaders are ranked 250th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Owen Schlager, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Andre Steele was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Susquehanna Township came up short against the Wildcats on Monday and fell 61-50. Susquehanna Township has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Trinity has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Susquehanna Township, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-11.
Trinity strolled past the HANNA in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 77-62. The rematch might be a little tougher for Trinity since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
