Basketball Game Preview: Wakpala Sioux vs. Ipswich Tigers

The Wakpala Sioux will square off against the Ipswich Tigers on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Wakpala is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They snuck past Highmore/Harrold with a 59-53 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Sioux as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ipswich, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They breezed past Tiospaye Topa to the tune of 63-29 on Tuesday.

Ipswich is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points over those games. Wakpala now has a winning record of 12-11.

Wakpala came up short against Ipswich in their previous matchup back in January, falling 56-50. Can Wakpala avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
