Basketball Game Preview: Cochranton Cardinals vs. Cranberry Area Berries

The Cochranton Cardinals will challenge the Cranberry Area Berries at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Cochranton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Cranberry Area likes a good challenge.

Cochranton is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Rocky Grove just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were beaten by the Orioles 87-55. The Cardinals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-23.

Meanwhile, Cranberry Area came up short against Clarion Area on Wednesday and fell 58-48.

Cranberry Area's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-6. As for Cochranton, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.

Cochranton beat Cranberry Area 72-65 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Will Cochranton repeat their success, or does Cranberry Area have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
