Volleyball Recap: Kira Schweitzer and Libbie Reil Secure Win for Milford

There's no place like home for Milford, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the David City Scouts 2-1 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Scouts: they've now won three in a row.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Milford got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-27, 25-14.

Leading Milford to victory were Libbie Reil and Kira Schweitzer. Reil had eight digs and five assists, while Schweitzer had five digs and one assist. Those five assists gave Reil a new career-high. Ashlynn Miller also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Milford's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for David City, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.

Coincidentally, Milford and David City will both be playing Malcolm the next time they take the court. The Scouts will head out to face the Clippers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
