Basketball Recap: Springfield Beats Jackson-Milton for Their Seventh Straight Victory

Springfield posted their biggest victory since December 20, 2024 on Wednesday. They blew past the Jackson-Milton Bluejays 59-38. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Jackson-Milton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Amani Yasin posted 19 points in addition to eight steals and six assists. Yasin has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Kerr, who put up 11 points.

The win (which was Springfield's seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-7. As for Jackson-Milton, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
