Basketball Recap: Utopian Academy for the Arts Comes Up Short

Utopian Academy for the Arts was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 70-21 loss at the hands of the Southwest Atlanta Christian Warriors. While losing is never fun, Utopian Academy for the Arts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 499th, while Southwest Atlanta Christian is ranked 71st).

Southwest Atlanta Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sasha Joseph, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 19 boards. Joseph has been hot for a while, having posted 16 or more rebounds the last 15 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicora Patrick, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 16 boards.

Utopian Academy for the Arts' defeat dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Southwest Atlanta Christian, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 22-1.

As of now, neither Utopian Academy for the Arts nor Southwest Atlanta Christian have any future games scheduled.
