Preview: Pacific Grove vs. Oakwood
Pacific Grove has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Oakwood Hawks at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither Pacific Grove nor Oakwood posted many goals in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.
Pacific Grove fell victim to York's stalwart defense on Tuesday and couldn't make it onto the board. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 3-0 walloping at the hands of the Falcons.
Meanwhile, Oakwood was the victim of a tough 4-1 defeat at the hands of York on Friday. Oakwood has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Pacific Grove has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6-1 record this season. As for Oakwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
Pacific Grove took their win against Oakwood when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pacific Grove since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
