Football Recap: Friday's Victory Is Chowchilla's Seventh in Last Nine Outings + How To Watch

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Chowchilla walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 43-22 margin over the West Vikings on Friday. The Tribe might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 21 points or more this season.

Chowchilla's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tristan Beardsley, who rushed for 100 yards and four TDs on only 13 carries. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Beardsley a new career-high. Chowchilla also got a significant boost from Nathan Fuentes, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 109 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Chowchilla was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 323 rushing yards. They are 7-2 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

West's loss came despite strong showings from Solomon Harris and Jamarr Price. Harris rushed for 162 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, while Price gained 143 total yards. Harris is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 101 every time he's taken the field this season.

Chowchilla has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.3 points over those games. As for West, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

Looking ahead, Chowchilla will square off against Woodlake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tribe will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last five matchups. West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
