Basketball Recap: Walnut Comes Up Short

After flying high against Vardaman last Saturday, Walnut came back down to earth. The Walnut Wildcats fell 63-53 to the Ripley Tigers on Tuesday. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 69-45 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Walnut's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Ripley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Walnut will take on Ashland in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on December 17th at. As for Ripley, they will welcome Tishomingo County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
