Baseball Recap: Sun Valley Magnet Find Success

Sun Valley Magnet won the last time they faced Valley Oaks CES and things went their way on Thursday too. The Pioneers walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Vanguards. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pioneers.

Diego Loredo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up 13 Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Sun Valley Magnet is 9-2 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 1-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Manuel Marquez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Sun Valley Magnet is undefeated when Marquez posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Leonard Chavez Jr., who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Sun Valley Magnet's record now sits at 10-7. As for Valley Oaks CES, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
