Baseball Recap: Cypress Ridge Takes a Loss

Cypress Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Stratford Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-0 on Tuesday.

Cypress Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 5-21. As for Stratford, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-9.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cypress Ridge will face off against rival Cypress Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Stratford is set to square off against their familiar foe Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 3.6, the Mustangs 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
