Volleyball Recap: Erie Red Devils vs. Neodesha Blue Streaks
Erie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Neodesha Blue Streaks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Streaks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in September.
The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-10.
Madi Cope paced Erie's offense, picking up four kills. Cope were helped by Kylie Hodgden and Kaeleigh Daniels, who contributed five assists each. Finally, Andi Nordt kept Erie's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.
Dalia Johnson was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had seven digs and three aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last five matches.
Erie's loss dropped their record down to 16-18. As for Neodesha, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-6 record this season.
Erie didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Baxter Springs on the 11th. As for Neodesha, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Sedan at 5:00 p.m.
