Baseball Recap: Dunmore's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Dunmore extended their winning streak to five on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 17-3 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Elk Lake Warriors. That's two games straight that the Bucks have won by just one run.

Max Forgione made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, Mason Stets was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

As for Elk Lake, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-3. The contest marked their lowest-scoring match so far this season.

On Elk Lake's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alden Felker, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Dunmore and Elk Lake should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Bucks will face off against Holy Cross at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (64 vs. 433). Meanwhile, Elk Lake (ranked 176th) will meet Forest City (ranked 611th) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
