Softball Recap: Berkeley Takes a Loss

Liberty hit Berkeley with a eight-run first inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Yellowjackets lost 12-1 to the Lions. The Yellowjackets' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

Berkeley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Pritchard, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Berkeley's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Liberty, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 16-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Berkeley will take on Mt. Eden at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Monarchs have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Liberty, they will square off against Freedom at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Falcons have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups.
