Baseball Recap: Mount Tahoma Comes Up Short

Mount Tahoma had lost six straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 3-15 to make it seven. They lost 15-0 to the North Thurston Rams. The T-Birds were not able to make up for their loss to the Rams from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

As for North Thurston, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games.

For North Thurston's part, Jaylen Kennedy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Kennedy has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four runs and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, North Thurston let Kole French and Zach Albright run wild. French got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs, while Albright went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was Albright's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of David Perez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Coming up, Mount Tahoma will be playing in front of their home fans against Lakes at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for North Thurston, they are taking a road trip to square off against Lincoln at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rams are facing the Abes at the right time seeing as the Abes are stuck on an 18-game losing streak.
