Football Recap: Temecula Valley Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After soaring to 39 points the game before, Temecula Valley was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They came up short against the Great Oak Wolfpack, falling 36-13. While losing is never fun, the Golden Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 336th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 123rd).

Although Temecula Valley took the loss, they still got scores from Graham Allen and Brody Schumacher.

Trent Lux was his usual excellent self, throwing for 217 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 19 passes, while also punching in two scores on the ground for Great Oak. Those two rushing touchdowns gave Lux a new career-high. Carlos Carruego was Lux's top target, picking up 57 receiving yards and one TD.

Temecula Valley now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Great Oak, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Temecula Valley will host Corona at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Bears are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Great Oak, they will be playing in front of their home fans against King at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolfpack will need to watch out since the Wolves have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
