Recap: Southern Alamance Patriots vs. Grimsley Whirlies
The Southern Alamance Patriots won the last time they faced the Grimsley Whirlies, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Southern Alamance snuck past Grimsley with a 30-25 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Southern Alamance.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southern Alamance to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sunny Yarnell, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Isley, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds.
Grimsley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Autumn Clark, who scored 6 points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Britt, who scored 6 points.
Southern Alamance's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Grimsley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Southern Alamance will head out on the road to face off against Southeast Alamance at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Southeast Alamance presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Southern Alamance in North Carolina (Southeast Alamance is ranked 23rd, while Southern Alamance is ranked 215th). As for Grimsley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southeast Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
