Weed came tearing into Friday's matchup with 14 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.7 points), and they left with even more momentum. They skirted past the Mt. Shasta Bears 59-56. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since December 13, 2024.

Weed's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maddox Mize, who went 8-for-11 to rack up 23 points. Marcus Horton was another key player, going 6-for-12 en route to 16 points.

Mt. Shasta lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brooks Andrus, who went 8-for-17 on his way to 20 points along with eight boards and three steals. The game was his tenth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Mangrum, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 17 rebounds.

Weed's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points over those games. As for Mt. Shasta, their loss dropped their record down to 17-11.

Weed wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 71-47 victory against Hamilton on the 21st. As for Mt. Shasta, they have also already played their next match, an 89-57 win against Quincy on the 21st.
