Saint Mary is 8-2 against Albany since February of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Saint Mary's Panthers duke it out with the Albany Cougars at 7:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, Saint Mary's lost to Salesian College Preparatory on the road by a 64-50 margin. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Albany beat Vallejo 52-40 on Saturday. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Redhawks are ranked 770th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Albany's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Saint Mary's, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-3.

Saint Mary's didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Albany in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 48-43 win. Will Saint Mary's repeat their success, or does Albany have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
