Baseball Game Preview: Caledonia Cavaliers vs. New Hope Trojans

Caledonia and New Hope are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but likely not for long. The Caledonia Cavaliers will venture away from home to square off against the New Hope Trojans at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Caledonia has three straight wins, New Hope has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Caledonia's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over New Hope. That's two games straight that the Cavaliers have won by exactly three runs.

The result came thanks to Reid Garrett's shutout, as he gave up just five hits and racked up 15 Ks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, Caledonia's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Dawkins, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Jack Mullins also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Caledonia now has a winning record of 3-2. As for New Hope, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
