Preview: Kingwood Mustangs vs. Silsbee Tigers
The Kingwood Mustangs will be playing at home against the Silsbee Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Kingwood comes in on three and Silsbee on four.
Last Tuesday, Kingwood earned a 34-23 win over Spring Woods. Given Kingwood's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 466th, while Spring Woods is ranked 1049th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, even though Lufkin scored an imposing 69 points on Tuesday, Silsbee still came out on top. Silsbee secured a 73-69 W over Lufkin.
Jared Harris was his usual excellent self, scoring 39 points along with 6 steals. The contest was his 12th in a row with at least ten points. Payton Jones was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 5 assists.
Kingwood pushed their record up to 8-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Silsbee, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.
