South Summit has gone a perfect 5-0 against Providence Hall recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field against the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (South Summit has three straight victories, Providence Hall has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
South Summit is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest on Thursday with ease, bagging a 62-0 win over Judge Memorial Catholic. Considering the Wildcats have won four games by more than 28 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

South Summit can attribute much of their success to Ian Mair, who threw for 238 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes, and Bryce Pulver, who rushed for 89 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries. Mair's passing game has become a key predictor of the Wildcats' success: the team is 4-1 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise. Blake Osguthorpe also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
South Summit's run defense was locked in: Judge Memorial Catholic could only muster 2.1 yards per carry. While two picked up at least five total tackles, Pulver stood above the rest. He rushed for 89 yards and two scores on only 11 carries. South Summit's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 4.18 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 10.1 on average over their last five games.
Special teams played a big role in the game for South Summit, adding 14 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Osguthorpe, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Providence Hall was beaten by Summit Academy 70-8 on Friday.
Providence Hall's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for South Summit, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Everything came up roses for South Summit against Providence Hall in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 54-0 victory. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
