Western Reserve was handed a three-set defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Margaretta Polar Bears. For the Roughriders, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Polar Bears walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2020.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Western Reserve got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 23-25, 25-11.

Western Reserve now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Margaretta, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coincidentally, Western Reserve and Margaretta will both be playing Colonel Crawford the next time they take the court. The Roughriders will head out to face the Eagles at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Polar Bears will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
