Softball Game Preview: Community School of Naples Seahawks vs. Everglades City Gators

The Community School of Naples Seahawks will face off against the Everglades City Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Community School of Naples is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Community School of Naples fell victim to Seacrest Country Day and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Stingrays, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Seahawks' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Everglades City). They put the hurt on Dunbar with a sharp 20-4 victory on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Olivia Demere was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Gena Collins was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

Everglades City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .867. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Everglades City's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Community School of Naples, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
