Volleyball Recap: Morrill Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Morrill waltzed into their contest on Thursday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. Everything went their way against the Kimball Longhorns as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in September.

Morrill's got stronger as the match went on, holding Kimball to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-14, 25-12.

Katelyn Walker paced Morrill's offense, picking up 14 kills. Walker got some help from Makayla Dykes and her 16 assists. Dykes was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Despite the loss, Kimball still got an impressive performance from Hannah Kilgore, who had 22 digs. Kilgore is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last 14 games she's played.

Morrill's win bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Kimball, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Morrill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Perkins County on the 10th. As for Kimball, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Sutherland on the 10th.
