League recap: League lead hangs in balance for Dripping Springs, Marble Falls this week

4A Region IV District 25 league recap: 3/20/13

First place in 4A Region IV District 25 standings is up for grabs this week, as Marble Falls sits just 2 games back of Dripping Springs.

The Mustangs outperformed the rest of the league this week, as their three total wins led the league. Marble Falls beat Rouse 4-3, Cedar Park 3-2 and the Timberwolves 4-1.

Cedar Park boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

The league boasted four .400 hitters over the past week. Leading the pack was Taylor Ward, who hit .583 by going 7-for-12.

Kyle Jacobs's four RBIs this week were tops in the league. Jacobs has ten RBIs this season, fourth in the league.



The Mustangs' Tanner Dickerson struck out ten the Timberwolves hitters en route to a 3-2 victory on March 14. Over his seven innings pitched he allowed three runs on four hits.

Taylor Ward drove in four runners as Rouse defeated Leander 11-7 on Thursday. He went 4-for-4 and scored two runs.
