Volleyball Recap: Trego Takes a Loss

Trego was the 3-1 winner over Ellis when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Golden Eagles fell 2-0 to the Railroaders on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Trego ultimately came up short, they really made Ellis work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 28-26.

Bailey Ziegler paced Trego's offense, picking up six kills. Ziegler got some help from Maura Albers and her 11 assists. Albers also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Tegan Lang, each putting up two.

Trego's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Ellis, they moved to 9-16 with that win, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

Trego has already played their next contest (against Phillipsburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Ellis, they will challenge Victoria at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
