Basketball Recap: Scotland Comes Up Short

After flying high against Southern Lee last Tuesday, Scotland came back down to earth. The Scotland Fighting Scots took a 43-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Union Pines Vikings on Friday. It was the first time this season that the Fighting Scots let down their fans at home.

Ashanti Fox continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Union Pines, dropping a double-double with 21 points and ten boards. Fox's evening made it 18 games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Gianna Maheu was another key player, putting up six points and five steals.

Scotland's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Union Pines, the win keeps them at an undefeated 18-0.

Scotland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 52-33 victory against Purnell Swett on the 3rd. As for Union Pines, they have also already played their next game, a 59-43 loss against Richmond on the 4th.
