Preview: Community Christian Academy Warriors vs. The Master's Academy Lions
The Community Christian Academy Warriors will head out on the road to face off against The Master's Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Monday, Community Christian Academy suffered a rough 65-44 defeat at the hands of Lake Lure Classical Academy. While losing is never fun, Community Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 360th, while Lake Lure Classical Academy is ranked 92nd).
Meanwhile, The Master's Academy struggled with threes on Monday (Pinnacle Classical Academy had 500% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. The Master's Academy took a hard 66-50 fall against Pinnacle Classical Academy.
Despite their loss, The Master's Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Aiden Holiday, who scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals, was perhaps the best of all. Holiday scored a full 34% of The Master's Academy's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ben Davis was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
Their wins bumped Community Christian Academy to 4-4 and Lake Lure Classical Academy to 7-0.
Community Christian Academy barely slipped by The Master's Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2022, winning 66-65. The rematch might be a little tougher for Community Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
