Santana Came Up Big in Pomona's 42-7 Win

The second Pomona player making an appearance here is Luis Santana, and for good reason. He rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also picked up 70 receiving yards and a touchdown.

This season, Santana has caught 3 touchdowns while averaging 28.4 receiving yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 20.13 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 63.75 rushing yards.

Tim Slover Delivers Best Performance of Season

Thompson Valley was led to victory by Tim Slover, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Thursday. Slover rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries.

For the year, Slover has averaged 5.2 receiving yards per game.

Another Game with at Least Five Total Tackles from Wally Edwards

Sadly, Wally Edwards posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Mountain View over Pomona on Friday. Edwards wasn't messing around, picking up a sack, making 13 total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defending a pass. The matchup was his third straight with five or more total tackles.

Mountain View's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-3. Edwards will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant performance when he faces off against Severance on Thursday.
