Baseball Recap: Rejoice Christian's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

Rejoice Christian dropped their record down to 17-15 on Thursday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins. They lost 16-5 to the Pryor Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since March 27th.

Rejoice Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trace Sanchez, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Another was Callen Duncan, who earned two runs and one stolen base.

As for Pryor, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games.

On Pryor's side, Gavin Roberts was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Roberts a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sergio Banuelos, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Coming up, Rejoice Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Pawhuska at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pryor, they are taking a road trip to face off against Jenks at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
