Softball Recap: Patterson Mill Wins High-Profile Contest Against Fallston

Patterson Mill faced Fallston in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Patterson Mill was the clear victor by an 8-1 margin over Fallston. Patterson Mill might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

Lily Baldwin was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Savannah Reedy was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Knight, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Patterson Mill hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive contests.

Patterson Mill's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Fallston, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3.
