Baseball Game Preview: Bear River Bruins vs. Center Cougars

For the second straight game, Bear River will face off against Center. The Bruins will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Bear River's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Center's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Bear River gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Center by a score of 6-2. The victory continues a trend for the Bruins in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won five in a row.

Cooper Berry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on 12 hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cooper Lunsford, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Kaden Nicholls, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Bear River's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Center, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6-1.
