New Holstein is 9-1 against Kiel since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Huskies will square off against the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (New Holstein has eight straight wins, Kiel has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Makayla Meyer and Makya Pendleton made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Meyer tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Pendleton pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meyer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate, Meyer went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Pendleton got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Like New Holstein, Kiel also got a great game from a two-way player: Liz Neils. She struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Neils was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles.

In other batting news, Emma Neils made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

New Holstein's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Kiel, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.
