Manatee won the last time they faced Southeast and things went their way on Saturday too. The Hurricanes sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Seminoles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hurricanes have posted since September 12th.

Defeat or not, Southeast got some senior leadership from Layla Holmbeck and Jaeda Dean. Holmbeck had 26 assists and ten digs, while Dean had nine kills and one block. Dean is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 12 games she's played.

The win got Manatee back to even at 8-8. As for Southeast, their loss dropped their record down to 11-2.

Manatee has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Braden River on the 23rd. As for Southeast, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Saint Stephen's Episcopal on the 22nd.
