Softball Game Preview: Calhoun Sandcrabs vs. El Campo Ricebirds

The Calhoun Sandcrabs will challenge the El Campo Ricebirds at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. El Campo took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Calhoun, who comes in off a win.

Calhoun took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Sinton with a sharp 14-2 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Sandcrabs needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

The team relied heavily on Braylyn Galloway, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Veronica Zavala, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
