D'Majae Montgomery, Bloom's leader in runs on the season, led the team again on Wednesday. Montgomery was dynamite, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Bloom: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-12 otherwise.

Montgomery's strong effort led Bloom over Thornton and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Blazing Trojan are a perfect 10-0 against the Wildcats going back to April of 2022, a lead they'll look to extend.
