Football Recap: Booker Tornadoes vs. Auburn Tigers
Booker had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost to the Auburn Tigers on the road by a 24-6 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Tornadoes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 107th in Florida, while the Tigers are ranked third in Alabama).
Joel Morris threw for 176 yards and one touchdown. John Fiasco was his top target, picking up 67 receiving yards.
A big part of Auburn's victory came down to the chemistry between Cason Myers and his top target Joshua Askew. Myers threw for 147 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes while Askew picked up 72 receiving yards and two scores. Those two receiving touchdowns gave Askew a new career-high.
Coming up, Booker will look to defend their home field on Friday against Berkeley Prep at 7:30 p.m. As for Auburn, they will venture away from home to face off against Vestavia Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
