Softball Recap: Morse Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Morse and Coronado, and Morse kept the tradition alive. The Tigers came out on top against the Islanders by a score of 12-7 on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Tigers needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Hailey Truby and Abby Okita did most of the damage at the plate: Truby went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Okita got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs. Another player making a difference was Camryn Salvador, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI.

Morse has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Coronado, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morse will square off against San Diego at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Coronado, they will face off against San Dieguito Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Islanders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
