Softball Recap: Silver Stage Comes Up Short

Silver Stage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Oasis Academy Bighorns, falling 21-4. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bighorns this season, with their most recent defeat being a 23-0 loss on Saturday.

Silver Stage saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Broughton, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Broughton also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Even though they lost, Silver Stage was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Silver Stage's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Oasis Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-4.

Silver Stage will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on West Wendover at 4:00 p.m. on the 11th. Silver Stage will need to watch out since West Wendover has now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches. As for Oasis Academy, they will face off against Yerington at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Oasis Academy has won three straight at home, while Yerington won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
