Softball Game Preview: Castle Park Trojans vs. Southwest SD Raiders

The Castle Park Trojans will head out to square off against the Southwest SD Raiders at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Castle Park comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Castle Park fell victim to Sweetwater and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 19-0 to the Red Devils.

Meanwhile, Southwest SD came up short against Hilltop on Wednesday, falling 8-2. The loss continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Lancers: they've now lost four in a row.

Samantha Ramirez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Aketzalli Rodriguez, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Castle Park's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Southwest SD, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Everything went Castle Park's way against Southwest SD in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Castle Park made off with an 11-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
