Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Edgewood

Edgewood entered their tilt with La Puente on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 14-1 victory. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 11-0 victory on Tuesday.

Raymond Tafolla was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has become a key player for Edgewood: the team is undefeated when he allows at most three hits, but 7-8 otherwise. Tafolla was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Noah Ramirez, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Edgewood's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 3-8 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Tony Madriz, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Edgewood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Edgewood's record now sits at 11-8. As for La Puente, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.
