Basketball Recap: Twin Loup Comes Up Short

Twin Loup lost against Hyannis back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Twin Loup Wolves took a 71-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hyannis Longhorns. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Twin Loup saw an underclassman step up: freshman Yahya Harris went 11 of 22 en route to 34 points in addition to eight assists and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harris has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jackson Hall, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Twin Loup smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Twin Loup's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Hyannis, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Twin Loup has already played their next game, a 74-52 victory against North Central on the 17th. As for Hyannis, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 36-29 loss against Sandhills Valley on the 18th.
